The European Union suffered in the global economic downturn, but some countries are starting to see real and significant rises in their economy, particularly newcomers to the EU, who are reaping the benefits that a bigger and open market can bring. Many businesses in Poland are achieving unprecedented levels of growth, and the future looks even brighter. Here, Justin Cobb reviews the growth of many SMEs in Poland, and looks at the lessons that UK businesses can learn.
“I’ve been working closely with SMEs in Poland for some time, and last week I hosted an industry meeting there”, said businessman and public speaker Justin Cobb. “Every time I visit the country, I can feel the entrepreneurial spirit in the air. They’re prepared to work hard and be ambitious, and they’re reaping the benefits.”
Poland is a beautiful and welcoming country, but one with a turbulent history. It joined the European Union in 2004, and in the years following this many Poles migrated to western European countries, including the UK. They witnessed first hand how entrepreneurism can change lives, and create a better future. In recent years, a large number of these Poles have returned to their home country, and taken back the lessons that they learned. These adopted skills, added to a new found confidence, have helped the Polish economy boom. It grew by 3.4% overall in 2013, and this figure is expected to rise further in subsequent years. This makes Poland one of Europe’s most successful economies.
The SMEs present at the recent marketing industry meeting have been even more successful. The companies had grown their client’s customer base by 113% in the last year. They weren’t happy to rest on their laurels, and bask in the glow of their achievements, but were instead dedicated to improving their services and creating even better results in the next 12 months.
“I was hugely impressed by the growth these Polish companies have achieved in the past year”, said Justin Cobb. “They have done it through hard work, and by careful analysis coupled with innovation. There are many possibilities and opportunities ahead for the Polish market, and UK businesses as well can find a growing market for their goods and services there.”
Justin Cobb’s public speaking and marketing services are in demand across Europe. He can help businesses in the UK think big and reach their true potential, in both their home market and abroad.
